Devoteam is a global leading player in Digital Transformation for organisations across EMEA. Join our nearshore development team in Lisboa, Portugal as a Senior WordPress Developer. Create and maintain high-quality WordPress websites and applications for international clients.

Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins daily. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative web solutions. Optimize website performance, security, and user experience while troubleshooting complex issues.

Work with a multidisciplinary team of Cloud experts, Designers, Engineers, and Developers across more than 20 EMEA countries. Communicate effectively with clients and team members across different time zones. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices documentation.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development
Advanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Proficiency in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
Strong understanding of WordPress core, including APIs and hooks
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
Expertise in responsive design and mobile-first development
Familiarity with MySQL and database optimization techniques
Knowledge of WordPress security best practices and performance optimization
