As a hands-on WordPress Developer, you will support the migration, development, and ongoing maintenance of multiple large-scale, customer-facing websites. You will work across front-end and back-end development to ensure sites are scalable, performant, accessible, and aligned with modern web standards. This includes upgrading themes and migrating to new hosting environments.

You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality web experiences. Responsibilities involve enhancing development workflows through automation and build tools while maintaining operational reliability. Code reviews and testing ensure consistent performance across browsers and devices.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in web development with a strong focus on WordPress
  • Proven experience migrating WordPress websites between hosting platforms
  • Hands-on experience updating WordPress theme frameworks (e.g., Sage versions)
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery for front-end and back-end development
  • Experience with build tools such as Webpack, NPM, and Yarn
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools
  • Knowledge of WordPress core APIs, hooks, and filters
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments

Responsibilities

  • Migrate existing WordPress websites to new hosting platforms with minimal disruption
  • Upgrade and maintain WordPress themes, including transitioning between theme framework versions (e.g., Sage 9 to Sage 11)
  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress functionality using core APIs, hooks, filters, and best practices
  • Build and enhance both front-end and back-end components using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Implement and optimize build pipelines and automation workflows using tools such as Webpack, NPM, and Yarn
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers and developers to deliver user-friendly, responsive, and accessible websites
  • Perform code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality and performance standards
  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent user experiences
