The Senior WordPress Developer will design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based websites ensuring functionality, performance, and user experience.

In this role based in Malta, you will create custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements. Regularly update, troubleshoot, and maintain websites while optimizing for speed, responsiveness, and SEO compliance. Implement third-party tools and APIs into WordPress sites.

Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate design wireframes into functional web pages. Conduct quality assurance testing, resolve cross-browser compatibility issues, and ensure websites are secure with best practices. Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver exceptional web solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Understanding of graphic design tools like Figma
  • Strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, and WordPress core
  • Experience with custom themes and plugin development
  • Familiarity with WordPress REST API and Gutenberg blocks
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimization
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git
