With over 110 employees in more than 35 countries, we deliver enterprise-level solutions for customers like SAP and PayPal, all in fully remote mode. As Senior WordPress Engineer, take responsibility for the full technical lifecycle of complex features and projects.
You oversee architecture, implementation, deployment, and performance optimization of complex functions. Work closely with talented cross-functional teams to implement robust, scalable solutions. Mentor less experienced developers while raising the bar for code quality and delivery.
Operate in a high-autonomy remote environment with colleagues across 35+ countries. Collaborate with engineers, QA, DevOps, project managers, and designers for timely, high-quality project delivery. Participate in customer meetings to communicate technical concepts clearly to all stakeholders.
Lead as Tech Lead on projects, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architecture discussions. Develop CI/CD workflows, automated tests, and enforce standards for code quality, documentation, accessibility, performance, and security. Grow by mentoring through pairing, reviews, and strategic technical decisions.
Requirements
- Solid PHP knowledge (at least 5 years) with mastery of object-oriented programming to design system architectures and teach principles
- Comprehensive WordPress development experience: custom plugins, themes, Gutenberg blocks, WP REST API, and complex integrations
- Practical experience with Gutenberg/Block Editor, including creating custom blocks with React
- Solid experience with JavaScript and React, especially for Block Editor/Gutenberg development
- Proven ability to mentor other developers and improve code quality through code reviews and pair programming
- Experience conceiving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated tests (PHPUnit, E2E), and quality standards
- Confident in direct customer contact, explaining technical decisions and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working full stack without strong preference for client- or server-side code
Responsibilities
- Oversee conception and implementation of complex functions, plugins, themes, and integrations from planning to deployment
- Lead projects as Tech Lead, coordinate development work, and serve as technical contact for the team
- Translate complex customer requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions, proactively identifying risks
- Participate in customer meetings and communicate technical concepts, progress, and limitations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide actionable, constructive feedback to developers at all levels
- Contribute to and lead architecture discussions, refactoring initiatives, and strategic technical decisions
- Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows, automated tests, and observability practices for robust delivery pipelines
- Enforce technical standards including code quality, documentation, test coverage, accessibility, performance, and security
