About this role

The Senior PHP/WordPress Developer is a high-impact technical role responsible for the architecture, development, and stability of our enterprise-scale WordPress VIP ecosystem. We seek a 'developer's developer' who views high-quality code as baseline, with automated testing and continuous delivery as essential. This individual acts as technical anchor and servant leader using BDD, ATDD, and TDD.

Architect bespoke, high-performance WordPress themes, plugins, and solutions optimized for WPVIP. Write clean, modular PHP 8.x using OOP and SOLID principles for VIP-standard compliance. Drive collaboration with stakeholders via BDD for shared understanding.

Implement ATDD and TDD practices for executable behavior understanding. Own Continuous Delivery pipelines with VIP-CLI and GitHub Actions, ensuring deploy-ready commits via automated linting, unit, and integration tests. Act as servant leader removing blockers and facilitating pair programming.

Proactively identify technical debt and refactor for testability and performance. Embed testing and automation to enable fast movement without breakage. Mentor others in engineering best practices while scaling the organization confidently.

Requirements

7+ years of professional PHP experience, with deep expertise in the WordPress VIP ecosystem
Proven experience with testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Playwright, Behat, or Cypress) and commitment to TDD/BDD workflows
Expert knowledge of modern Continuous Delivery practices and WPVIP-specific deployment constraints
Strong command of React (Gutenberg), ES6+, and REST/GraphQL API integration
Extensive experience with tools such as PHPCS, New Relic, Query Monitor, WPScan and K6/WebPageTest
BDD, ATDD, TDD and CI/CD engineering excellence
WPVIP architecture and high-scale PHP technical stewardship
Servant leadership empowering others through mentorship and knowledge sharing
