About this role
We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer with strong backend and frontend development skills to join our digital team. This role is central to maintaining, improving, and potentially reimagining our current web infrastructure. You will execute tasks and consult on the best path forward, whether migrating to a new CMS, rebuilding from scratch in WordPress, or optimizing our existing instance.
A typical day includes responding to requests via Trello or Slack, pushing WordPress updates, plugin reviews, and site health checks. You will deploy new landing pages from Figma or design files, debug custom plugin issues or legacy code, and write optimized SQL queries. Additional duties involve conducting site audits and suggesting performance or UX improvements.
This is a remote position with a Monday to Friday schedule, flexible during business hours based on Glendale CA time, at 20 hours per week. Collaborate with internal stakeholders through Trello, Slack, and weekly dev stand-up calls for sprint planning and priorities. The environment emphasizes responsive communication and agile workflows.
A strong understanding of performance, scalability, and user experience is essential to make cornerstone pages fast, accessible, and high-converting. Advise on CMS strategy and technical direction for the site. This role offers opportunities to shape web infrastructure evolution and drive strategic improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with WordPress and PHP development
- Advanced MySQL knowledge including custom queries, data optimization, indexing
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Experience building custom WordPress themes
- Strong backend and frontend development skills
- Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and user experience
Responsibilities
