About this role

This role is responsible for developing code that can withstand high profile sites and intense loads. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to architect and develop durable, extensible, and secure code. Expert level PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML along with impeccable WordPress experience are required.

Daily tasks include developing new software solutions and maintaining existing applications. You will work with stakeholders to understand requirements, write tests to validate code function, and execute bug fixes. Participate in troubleshooting issues and measure results of implemented solutions.

Operate in a permanently remote environment for candidates in Bulgaria or Slovakia, with little-to-no supervision. Engage with cross-functional teams using CLI skills, automated testing, and a solid understanding of frontend and backend technologies. Comfortable in Linux environments.

Lead technical direction, mentor teams, and stay apprised of new technology and best practices. Thorough knowledge of product development life cycle supports growth. Passion for improving software systems drives ongoing contributions.

Requirements

5+ years Experience in the WordPress space
2+ years focused on leading the technical direction of a team and mentoring
2+ years developing with React
Skilled at crafting modern PHP (autoloading, dependency management, dependency injection, templating libraries, automated testing, OOP, frameworks like Symfony or Laravel)
Mid to advanced level vanilla JavaScript experience (including webpack, babel, and ES2015+ syntax)
Exceptional HTML & CSS (including PostCSS or Sass and BEM) skills
Experience working with design systems and design system thinking
Experience working with at least one automated testing framework

Responsibilities
