About this role

The State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development is seeking a Senior Web Designer to serve as the primary resource for converting existing external web pages from the native language to a new Drupal solution. This role will participate in department planning efforts and direct web page conversion from existing pages.

Day-to-day responsibilities include leading content migration to Drupal, working closely with agency staff to coordinate content, and meeting tight project deadlines. The contractor must be available online during standard working hours of 7:45 am – 4:30 pm Central Time and attend all scheduled meetings.

This position operates within a large state agency environment and may require onsite work at DWD's Madison headquarters without reimbursement for travel or lodging. The selected contractor must reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate at their own expense prior to starting.

Requirements

  • Experience working in Drupal with a specific focus on content migration to Drupal (5 years required)
  • Excellent communication skills to work with staff within the agency on content (5 years required)
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines to meet delivery needs of the project (5 years required)
  • Experience with user experience web content design, including best practices for organizing website materials to improve user experience (nice to have)
  • Previous work experience in a large agency or environment (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Convert existing external web pages from the native language to Drupal as the primary resource for the migration
  • Participate in department planning efforts and direct web page conversion from existing pages
  • Work with agency staff on content coordination and ensure accurate migration
  • Meet tight deadlines and work independently to deliver project needs
  • Be available online during DWD standard working hours (7:45 am – 4:30 pm Central Time)
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and be present to meet workload requirements
  • Perform onsite work at DWD Madison headquarters when requested, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods
