About this role

You will join a team of WordPress specialists focused on developing turn-key solutions on the WordPress CMS. Our core team consists of T-shaped professionals who work on both creative landing pages and corporate websites along with purely technical assignments on WordPress plugins and WordPress-based application development.

You will be responsible for setting up WordPress, setting up plugins, integrating markup, maintaining the solution, updating and optimizing, and integrating third-party APIs. This involves hands-on work with themes, plugins, and customizations.

Our Customers are mostly based in Europe and the USA, with web solutions in areas such as FinTech, E-commerce, hospitality, education, consulting, construction, and healthcare. The variety of projects supports diverse technical challenges.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress CMS (themes/plugins development/customization)
  • Knowledge of the most popular WordPress plugins and practices (cache, security, E-commerce, etc.)
  • Solid experience with MySQL (MariaDB)
  • Solid experience with popular web server configurations (Apache, nginx)
  • Good knowledge of Docker and Linux ecosystem
  • Ability to find narrow places and fix them (profiling, increasing performance, analyzing)
  • Experience with Git and GitFlow
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Code, develop integration tests, debug, document, implement, and maintain portions of software
  • Promote good design principles, such as code reuse, modularity, and extensibility
  • Assist test engineers and support personnel in solving technical issues of software installation and its operation
  • Perform code reviews for compliance with the best engineering practices, coding standards, and quality criteria set forth on the project
  • Continuously participate in technical risk identification and analysis, immediately notify the project manager of new risks identified, and suggest a mitigation strategy
  • Report status and progress according to the project and company requirements
  • Contribute to the creation of technical specifications
  • Participate in estimation and planning sessions
