About this role

Temple University's College of Liberal Arts: Criminal Justice Department seeks a part-time temporary Web Designer with WordPress skills. This grant-funded position, ending August 31, 2026, pays $35 hourly and is 100% remote. It supports ARCvi, a new WordPress site strengthening community violence intervention in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.

The role focuses on front-end design, layout, and content implementation for ARCvi. Refine page structure, format and upload content including text, images, and links. Improve visual consistency and ensure the site is user-friendly across devices.

Work closely with faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice and the Public Policy Lab. Engage in additional tasks to develop web-based resources for community and government agencies reducing violence. Build meaningful responsibility in a mission-driven environment.

Ideal for early-career designers to expand design and front-end web skills. Demonstrate abilities through prior web design experience on WordPress sites. Contribute to impactful project development from launch onward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic or web design, digital media, user experience (UX) design, communications, computer science, or related field
  • At least two years’ experience in information technology or related field
  • At least two years’ experience with WordPress (themes, pages, plugins)
  • Prior web design work experience to demonstrate skills
  • Experience building and editing websites in WordPress
  • Experience testing pages for usability, layout consistency, and broken links
