About this role

Temple University's College of Liberal Arts: Criminal Justice Department seeks a part-time temporary Web Designer with WordPress skills. This grant-funded position, ending August 31, 2026, pays $35 hourly and is 100% remote. It supports ARCvi, a new WordPress site strengthening community violence intervention in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.

The role focuses on front-end design, layout, and content implementation for ARCvi. Refine page structure, format and upload content including text, images, and links. Improve visual consistency and ensure the site is user-friendly across devices.

Work closely with faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice and the Public Policy Lab. Engage in additional tasks to develop web-based resources for community and government agencies reducing violence. Build meaningful responsibility in a mission-driven environment.

Ideal for early-career designers to expand design and front-end web skills. Demonstrate abilities through prior web design experience on WordPress sites. Contribute to impactful project development from launch onward.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in graphic or web design, digital media, user experience (UX) design, communications, computer science, or related field
At least two years’ experience in information technology or related field
At least two years’ experience with WordPress (themes, pages, plugins)
Prior web design work experience to demonstrate skills
Experience building and editing websites in WordPress
Experience testing pages for usability, layout consistency, and broken links
