As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will design, build, extend, and maintain high-quality WordPress solutions that look great, load fast, and scale easily. Own end-to-end development of custom sites, themes, and plugins from technical architecture to final polish. Translate client goals and designs into performant, maintainable implementations.

Requirements

Deep WordPress expertise
Advanced skills in custom WordPress theme and plugin development
Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for WordPress
Experience optimizing WordPress performance and scalability
Knowledge of WordPress best practices for accessibility and cross-device compatibility
Ability to integrate APIs, third-party services, and custom functionalities
Strong troubleshooting skills for complex WordPress issues
Familiarity with deployment processes, version control, and QA in WordPress environments

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end development of custom WordPress sites, themes, and plugins from technical architecture to final polish
Translate client goals and designs into performant, maintainable, and scalable WordPress implementations
Collaborate directly with clients to understand needs, present technical solutions clearly, and guide toward best-practice approaches
Build reusable components, optimize performance, ensure accessibility, and maintain pixel-perfect execution across devices
Work closely with design, content, and technical teams to integrate APIs, third-party services, marketing tools, and custom functionalities
Troubleshoot complex issues quickly and communicate solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Manage staging/production deployments, version control, environment setups, and QA processes to ensure high reliability
Uphold Lateral’s standards of engineering excellence with thoughtful decisions, crisp execution, and clean, well-reviewed code
