As a Senior Engineer, you deliver outstanding digital experiences through hands-on development and collaboration on sites. Your varied role includes custom integrations, strategic improvements, and accountability to schedules, estimates, project requirements, and quality standards. You work with existing WordPress codebases to extend and improve them.

You mentor new engineers, contribute to common code libraries, and proactively identify issues across agency areas. Explain complex concepts clearly, make smart technical decisions aligned with business goals, and document code thoroughly. Thrive in a remote environment with modern practices.

Requirements

5+ years of related WordPress experience
Worked in an agency environment, preferably in multiple time zones
Knowledge of industry trends
Strong problem-solving abilities, intelligence, and initiative
Strong debugging skills
Knowledge of modern development workflows including command line, gitflow, containers, and dev/stage/prod environments
Deeply understand modern web standards

Responsibilities

Understand clients' business goals and needs for supported sites
Identify issues, research solutions, and advise on best practices
Explain complex technical concepts in clear language for non-technical audiences
Craft custom front- or back-end solutions in WordPress
Develop native Gutenberg blocks using React and build custom themes and plugins
Perform end-to-end engineering on complex projects
Contribute to common code libraries and write tests
Mentor new and developing engineers
