About this role

This remote position seeks a senior WordPress developer for independent contractor work, 20 hours per week Monday-Thursday during Brisbane AEST business hours. Focus on website maintenance, plugin updates, optimization across four existing sites and two new ones. Basic SEO knowledge aids performance improvements.

Design, develop, and maintain websites using WordPress and Webflow, including CMS and Localization for dynamic pages. Customize themes and plugins to meet client needs while ensuring responsive design and exceptional user experience across devices. Perform regular updates, migrations, and troubleshooting for security and functionality.

Collaborate with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to translate concepts into functional sites. Communicate effectively in English with clients and team members. Work flexibly within the specified schedule in the Brisbane timezone.

Optimize sites for SEO and accessibility best practices. Stay up-to-date with latest web development trends, tools, and technologies. Contribute to ongoing projects enhancing skills in Webflow and WordPress.

Requirements

Proficiency in Webflow and WordPress is highly desirable
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles
Experience with customizing and developing WordPress themes and plugins
Familiarity with SEO best practices and website performance optimization
SEO Basic skills
Ability to work with graphic design tools such as Figma
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, with fluency in English
