We are seeking a Freelance UI Designer to support one of the most recognizable financial brands, celebrated for its bold creative ambitions. This role offers the chance to contribute to digital product experiences that reach millions of people.

The designer will implement a combination of strategic, conceptual, and design skills across various deliverable types. They will create and manage original, visually compelling work that is both on-brand and purposeful. Additionally, they will establish and maintain visual design systems, deploying tokenized components for scalable design, and utilize AI tools to inform and streamline the design process.

Operating within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, the designer will work closely with clients and internal teams. AKQA adopts a hybrid approach with required in-office days to foster creativity and connection, though this freelance position is fully remote. The team values a culture of openness and continuous improvement, and this role requires availability during core U.S. Eastern business hours.

This freelance assignment runs from June 15 to September 3, 2026, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. It offers the opportunity to contribute to products reaching millions, working remotely within the United States. Expected compensation ranges from $2,200 to $2,600 per week.

Requirements

4 to 6 years of experience, preferably in an agency setting.
Strong UI sensibility and visual design craft with complementary UX capabilities.
Compelling portfolio demonstrating strong UI craft across digital products and services.
Excellent knowledge of Figma, including setting up and utilizing Figma libraries.
Adept at utilizing AI tools to inform and streamline the design process.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining visual design systems with tokenized components.
Fearlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail.
